NTT Communications to offer internet services in Savan-Seno SEZ

NTT Communications of Japan has decided to invest in Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Savannakhet province, aiming to provide high-speed internet for companies investing in the zone.

The company has studied the potential and opportunity of doing business in the zone as Laos is being integrated with the region and the world.

Its subsidiary company known as NTT Communications Lao has been established and has just been granted a business licence by Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The handover ceremony of the licence for the company took place at Savan-Seno SEZ on November 30, attended by Vice Governor of the Savan Seno SEZ Authority Mr Thongsay Sayavongkhamdy, the president of the NTT Communications subsidiary company, who is also in charge of Asia-Pacific NTT Communications and other guests.

NTT Communications Lao is the Japanese investment aiming to provide high-speed internet for the zone which should contribute to facilitate the business operations of companies in the zone.

The company will also provide services in regards to the study of the IT market, technology and communication and databases. It shall also offer consultancy, design services for computer networks, telecommunications, WIFI and so on.

The registered investment capital of NTT Communications Lao in the zone is US$100,000, in the form of foreign private investment in Laos.

NTT Communications (Thailand) Co; Ltd holds 100 percent of the shares which will be operated over a five-year term.

The company has found that it was a good opportunity to provide high-speed internet for the other companies operating in Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as many more companies are heading to do businesses in this zone.

Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is located along Road No. 9 which forms part of the east-west economic corridor, linking Laos to Thailand, Vietnam and the rest of the region.

Many companies are relocating their production base to this zone as Laos will join theAsean Economic Community at the end of this month, which will create a lot of opportunities to explore business potential in Laos.
