TBS expands in vehicle battery market

The Thai Storage Battery Public Company (TSB) is expecting the sales of its new maintenance-free battery to grow by 150 percent next year.

According to a press release, distributed during a promotional event for its new product “3K Advance” in Vientiane last Friday, the company's strategic plan is to greatly expand sales.

The 3K battery brand has been widely known in Laos for more than 20 years, and now TSB is planning to expand its market share by cooperating with the KP company.

Under the collaboration, the firms hope to raise the profile of maintenance free batteries among Lao customers.

TSB estimates that by 2020 vehicle owners across the world including the local market will be more interested in using maintenance free batteries.

Accordingly, the company expects sales of these batteries to grow by 80 percent globally over the next five years.

However, low maintenance batteries are still the best selling in the Lao vehicle market, needed for heavy duty applications such as trucks and vehicles for public transportation.

TSB was established in 1986 and has been manufacturing and distributing automotive and motorcycle batteries under the 3K brand.

The company distributes its products in Thailand and in countries in Indochina and Asia, according to its website.
