Vietnam’s top 50 brands are worth $5.5bn: Brand Finance

Vinamilk is the most valuable among 50 biggest brands collectively worth nearly US$5.5 billion in Vietnam, a London-based brand valuation and strategy consultancy said.

Vietnam’s largest dairy producer alone holds a brand value of $1.13 billion, Brand Finance said in its “Vietnam 50 2015” report, which names the most valuable Vietnamese brands this year.

The list is dominated by players from the telecom and banking sectors, which secure most of the places in the top ten.

Military-run Viettel comes at the second place, with a brand value of $580 million, followed by giant property developer Vinhomes ($343 billion), leading mobile network operator MobiFone ($306 billion), and state-run gas behemoth PetroVietnam Gas ($288 billion)

Tech firm FPT, Vietinbank, Vinaphone, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, and Vietcombank complete the top ten.

Brand Finance also evaluates the strength of the brands by a rating system.

Among the top 50 brands in Vietnam, Vinamilk also receives the highest rating, AAA-, followed by Vinhomes and FPT, both get an AA+.

The full list is available here.

The 50 most valuable Vietnamese brands are worth nearly $5.5 billion, but they are still modest compared to some other peers in the Southeast Asia.

The brand value of Thailand’s PTT, for instance, is $3.6 billion and the company is listed among the world’s top 500 brands in another report recently released by Brand Finance.

Singapore’s DBS is valued at $4.4 billion and Malaysia’s Petronas, $9.4 billion.

This is the first time Brand Finance adds Vietnam to its brand value report. The company’s brand evaluation reports are widely used by such major media agencies as BBC, CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal.

Brand Finance is the world’s leading brand valuation and strategy consultancy, with offices in over 20 countries.

Brand Finance evaluates more than 57,000 brands around the globe annually and releases such reports as Top 500 Global Brand, Top 500 Banks, and Nation Brand Report.
