Bosch brings hundreds of job opportunities to young Vietnamese talents
As one of the largest employers in the German business community in Vietnam, Bosch offered a diverse range of career opportunities to Vietnamese students at the German Job Fair 2015 on October 24 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Bosch is one of the rare international companies which operate in three main areas in Vietnam including research and development (R&D), manufacturing, and sales. It now has more than 280 job vacancies at its office and R&D centres in Ho Chi Minh City, and the continuously variable transmissions (CVT) push-belt manufacturing plant in the southern province of Dong Nai.
Students and young professionals with various backgrounds from information technology, engineering to business management, and social sciences can consult directly with Bosch recruitment specialists and find relevant job openings for them.
“The formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of this year will bring opportunities for both businesses and young professionals in Vietnam. The ASEAN common market will become a juncture of high-quality working people. Hence, Bosch has been actively and relentlessly contributing to the development of local talents,” said Vo Quang Hue, managing director of Bosch Vietnam.
At the job fair, Bosch also showcased its automotive spare parts, power tools, security technologies, and especially its modular mechatronics which can be beneficial for training at vocational schools, colleges and universities. A simulation of Bosch devices was conducted at the showroom during the day in order for participants to experience their utility, with instruction and explanation from Bosch technical experts.
Bosch started the first operation in Vietnam in 1994. Besides the headquarter in Ho Chi Minh City, Bosch Vietnam has two other branch offices in Hanoi and Danang. In 2008, Bosch Vietnamhas started to invest into the Gasoline Systems plant in the Long Thanh industrial zone in Dong Nai. The €260 million ($287 million) plant is the first high-tech production plant for CVT pushbelts in ASEAN and is expected to be complete by 2016.
In 2011 Bosch inaugurated the Software and Engineering R&D Centre and Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Vietnam Co., Ltd., which since then has employed around 850 engineers. After that Bosch established the Automotive R&D Centre in Ho Chi Minh City in 2014. Bosch Vietnam is active in six different business divisions: automotive aftermarket, drive and control technology, packaging technology, power tools, security systems and thermotechnology.
In 2013, Bosch also established a Technical Industrial Apprenticeship (TGA) training centre in Dong Nai. The dual education programme is developed based on German vocational training standards with the initial investment of $1 million to meet the increased need for local skilled labour.
The German Job Fair 2015 was jointly organised by the German Business Association in Vietnam (GBA), the Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (GIC/AHK), Alumniportal Deutschland, and Trained in Germany.
