Visa seeks to reassure VN consumers about shopping online

Card company Visa has launched a campaign to help educate Vietnamese consumers, many of whom remain worried about security, in shopping online smartly.

Pay with Confidence consists of a series of online videos in which pop starlet Hari Won uses the internet to organise travel plans, buy apparel and order food.

There are online quizzes with many prizes on offer.

Sean Preston, Visa's country manager for Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia, said, "Viet Nam is an incredibly important market for us, and one in which we still see a great deal of untapped potential in terms of e-commerce.

"Last year saw consumers in this country spent approximately US$3 billion in online shopping. This year internet penetration in Viet Nam is expected to hit 60 per cent and as such we see opportunities for event further growth in this market."
