Markets end mixed in early trading

The VN Index struggled to rise this morning, while the HNX Index fell further with active trading in small and medium shares.

 

Trading remained active, with a total 106.8 million shares being exchanged, worth VND1.94 trillion (US$89.8 million).

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.1 per cent to end at 623.77 points, with 81 gainers and 112 losers.

Among mid-cap and small-cap shares, BibiCA Corporation (BBC) and TMT Motor Joint Stock Company (TMT) made the largest gains of VND4,000 and VND3,100 each respectively, to reach the ceiling price.

Blue chips such as Vietcombank (VCB), Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), HCM City Securities Corporation (HCM) and Sai Gon Securities Incorporation (SSI) pushed the market up. VCB made a gain of VND1,500 per share after having declined in recent sessions.

Four stocks traded more than four million shares. They were HAI Agrochem Joint Stock Company (HAI), HCM City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (CII), Military Bank (MBB) and FLC Group (FLC).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.42 per cent to stand at 87.77 points, with the number of gainers being equal to two-thirds the number of losers.

Seven codes traded more than one million shares, including Sai Gon-Ha Noi Bank (SHB) and VNDirect Securities JSC (VND).
