Energy ministry to test electricity-saving devices
Anyhomes Asia Co., Ltd., under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, will run tests on electricity-saving devices including its Anyhomes Saver AH1-5 product in a bid to reduce household losses of electricity.
Representatives from the ministry, Anyhomes Asia Co., Ltd., the Lao Institute for Renewable Energy, power and power transmission companies, and state enterprises met last Friday in Vientiane to discuss the Anyhomes Saver AH1-5 product.
The meeting was chaired by Office Head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Dr Bountheung Phengthavongsa.
After attending the Laos Te chmart Exhibition 2014 in Vientiane, Lao energy officials have worked with various departments of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade to carry out a testing programme for the Anyhomes Saver AH1-5 product in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding the testing programme in Laos, the company asked to host a workshop here in Vientiane, according to its director Mr Le Hong Van, who made the proposal to the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines.
The workshop discussed the way in which the Anyhomes Saver AH1-5 product can reduce electricity losses for households and business units, especially power lost through transmission lines in Laos.
Initially the company will install the Anyhomes Saver AH1-5 in about 100 households and business units in Vientiane.
Testing will run for about two months to allow for analysis and appraisal to assess the practical effect of the product under the supervision of related units of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
Testing will first take place within the ministry and then extend to households and businesses.
Thereafter, reference material on the testing outcomes will be issued by the ministry, said a technical official from the company.
He said the company plans to open a representative office in Laos to partner with agencies to sell the devices here.
Initially, the company plans to sell its products in Vientiane, enabling households to consume energy more efficiently.
