Cooking gas prices drop in southern region

Major cooking gas firms in HCM City slashed their prices by VND14,000 (67 US cents) per 12kg canister on June 1, after they announced the price cut the previous day.

Dien dan Doanh nghiep (The Business Forum) online reported that dealers in other provinces and cities in the country's southern region did the same. The retail price of each canister now is between VND288,000 and VND288,500 (between $13.70 and $13.73) in the region.

A representative of the Saigon Petro Company reportedly said the fall in the retail prices followed the fall in the global market prices, where an average price of $422.5 per tonne of gas has been announced for June, down $47.5 per tonne from the prices in May.
