BS Financial Group launches leasing company in Laos

The BS Financial Group of the Republic of Korea has expanded its business in Laos after the opening of its new leasing company.

A grand opening ceremony for BS Capital Lao Leasing Company was held at the Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane yesterday.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, Mr Sonexay Sithphaxay, BS Capital CEO Mr Sang-Chun Lee, Financial Institution Supervision Department Director General, Dr Akhom Praseuth, BS Capital Lao Managing Director, Mr Hui-Seok Ryu, and other business and government officials.

BS Financial Group has become one of the top five financial groups in Korea through M&A with Kyung-Nam Bank in 2014 with total assets amounting to US$100 billion and seven subsidiary companies to provide one-stop financial services to the public.

BS Capital Company, one of the subsidiaries, was established in 2010 and within five years of operation in Korea, it had entered the list of the top 10 capital companies in Korea with total assets of US$5 billion.

As a leading financial group in Korea, BS Financial Group dispatched taskforce teams to conduct research into the financial markets of all Asean countries.

A fter reviewing the potential, BS Financial Group began its overseas expansion starting with Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. BS Capital Myanmar Company received an MFI licence last year to operate as a micro financing company.

Mr Sang-Chun Lee (CEO of BS Capital Company in Korea) made a speech at the ceremony and promised two things to Lao officials and customers in order to reach the goal of becoming a financial company that cares about local communities and is loved by Lao citizens.

Firstly, Mr Lee promised that BS Capital Lao Leasing Company will develop high quality leasing products with the knowledge accumulated in Korea to provide better services to customers.

Secondly, he promised that BS Capital Lao Leasing Company will abide by all the laws, regulations and guidelines of the Lao PDR and be good to their local staff. By keeping these promises BS Capital Lao Leasing Co. Ltd seeks to be loved by customers in Laos and be a company that Lao people want to work f or.

BS Capital Lao Leasing Company will formally begin operations by concentrating on car and motorcycle loans in the early stages. Once all of the systems are stable, BS Capital Lao will extend their services into areas such as light/heavy equipment leasing for business owners.
