Binh Dinh invites Singaporean investments

Chairman of the People's Committee of the central province of Binh Dinh Ho Quoc Dung arrived in Singapore on June 10, seeking investments for the province.

Dung and his entourage are scheduled to work with several education groups of Singapore, including KinderWorld, Sembcorp, CPG, and Premix, on the same day to invite them to invest in Binh Binh.

The Vietnamese delegation has also urged Singaporean businesses to invest in building factories in the industrial park and township complex that Viet Nam's leading industrial park and township developer VSIP plans to build in Binh Dinh.

Although Singapore is among the major investors in Viet Nam, Binh Dinh currently has only three projects by Singaporean businesses.

They include a cement project and two other projects on cashew purchase, production, and processing for export, which has a total investment capital of US$30 million.

The KinderWorld group recently registered to invest in two projects: to build Outward Bound Vietnam School in Phu Cat District and the Viet Nam-Singapore International School in Quy Nhon City.

KinderWorld is proceeding with investment procedures for the two projects.

Binh Dinh has also granted investment license to a ship-building project of Yanmar Singapore, which has a registered investment capital of $4 million.

The working visit is scheduled to conclude on June 13.
