HNX Index rises on investor confidence

Shares fluctuated heavily this morning, making the VN-Index on the southern bourse close lower, while the northern bourse showed some improvement due to high investor confidence.

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index lost 0.47 per cent to close at 559.18 points, with shares ending mixed with 89 gainers, 106 losers and 57 remaining flat.

The VN30, tracking the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, was down 0.5 per cent to close at 583.64 points.

More than 60.5 million shares were traded in the morning, worth VND858.7 billion (US$39.7 million).

FLC Group (FLC) remained the most active code on the southern bourse, with more than 6.2 million of its shares being traded. It fell 2.9 per cent to end at VND10,100 in market value.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended almost unchanged at 79.58 points, with a trading value of VND321 billion ($14.9 million).

However, the northern market also had a mixed performance with 71 advancing stocks, 79 losers and 213 stocks that remained unchanged.

KLF Joint Venture Global Investment Co (KLF) continued to lead the market, with more than 6.9 million of its shares being traded. Its market value increased by 1.41 per cent to reach VND7,200.
