TV show boosting national trademarks' image launched

The Industry and Trade's Trade Promotion Department launched a television programme on national trademarks on April 8.

The programme is aimed at building prestige for national trademarks, as well as disseminating products of enterprises, who have won national trademark awards, for the public.

Part of the national trademark programme, the TV show will focus on issues, including building the corporate trademark, developing products for export and finding methods to strengthen businesses' competitive capacity in the context of these three values–Quality, Innovation and Leadership. Based on this, the businesses will formulate strategy and the right steps for affirming its trademark position in the domestic and international markets.

Speaking at the introduction ceremony, which was hosted by the Trade Promotion Department and UniComm Company with financial support from the Hoa Sen Group, the department's Deputy Director, Do Kim Lang, said the trademark television programme would include discussions with experts and reports on real stories of businesses during the time they were trying to become national trademark.

The five-minute programme began its broadcast on Vietnam's television channel 3 (VTV3) from February 24 and is telecast every Tuesday and Thursday. Its participants share experiences on building national trademarks, the role of State agencies in building and developing national trademark for businesses, standards for managing product quality and the role of export trademarks for the country's economic development.

It is also expected to help domestic and foreign distributors, and consumers recognize products that have gained a national trademark.

Last year, the National Trademark Council awarded the Vietnam Value 2014, or the national trademark, to 63 domestic businesses that had achieved sustainable development and managed to maintain the prestige of their products at home and in foreign markets.

The programme had also organised a ceremony for awarding the businesses with the national trademark symbol. This event is held once in two years.

Previous reports showed that the number of businesses awarded in 2008, 2010 and 2012 were 30, 43 and 54, respectively.
