Lao entrepreneurs improve business skills

More than 100 representatives from different private and public entities are attending the Global Entrepreneurship Training (GET) for business skill development.

The course runs for one week from February 16-21 at the National University of Laos and is organised by Handong Global University with support from the UNESCO UNITWIN of the Ministry of Education, Republic of Korea.

GET 2015 in Laos is the fourteenth GET training course run by Handong Global University and through the programme the participants will improve their knowledge of the entrepreneurial mindset, the impact of entrepreneurship and creative innovation, entrepreneurial finance and accounting, international business, raising capital, business law, business ethics, starting-up business esand drawing up effective business plans.

They will also increase their understanding of strategic planning, marketing, and business communication.

The training will create op portunities for the participants to exchange experiences and share ideas on entrepreneurship with the lecturers who are hi ghly educated in Korea and Laos.

GET is well recognised as an essential entrepreneurship-teaching programme but it also serves as a good bridge for communication and cultural integration between Laos and the Republic of Korea.

“This is the result of hard work through our collaboration and desire to reach the entrepreneurial objectives envisioned over the years,” the National University of Laos Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr Lammay Phiphakkhavong said at the opening of the training yesterday.

The GET course at the university is also regarded as a contribution towards strengthening the relationship and cooperation between both countries, he said.

The use of new business tools and instructions on how to use innovation resources to guide each participant will motivate them to create their own opportunities and strategies, which will be presented during GET 2015 in Laos, Dr Lammay added.
