Etihad Airways signs up local agents for promotion

Etihad Airways signed agreements with six Vietnamese travel agents on February 2 to promote Abu Dhabi as a stopover destination for passengers transiting though the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital.

Hala Abu Dhabi, the airline's destination management section, has signed up local travel agencies: VieTravel, PTG Travel, Blue Sky Travel, and Hong Ngoc Ha, GIA HUY and Transviet for the promotional scheme called, "Stopover in Abu Dhabi".

The programme will allow travellers from Viet Nam and other countries to break their journeys in Abu Dhabi and enjoy exclusive privileges, such as overnight accommodation, complimentary visas and golf course access, before continuing on to their final destinations.

The six operators in Viet Nam now figure among the 45 partners of Hala Abu Dhabi in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, as well as Africa, Asia and Australia.

Peter Baumgartner, Chief Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, stated that the Vietnamese operators chosen for the tie-up have a successful track record of promoting Etihad Airways.
