Exports to the US reach $28.5 billion

Viet Nam's exports to the United States amounted to a total value of US$28.5 billion this year, up by 19.6 per cent compared with last year.

 

Citing data obtained from the General Statistics Office, Dau tu (Vietnam Investment Review) online reported that the United States remained the leading importer from Viet Nam.

Export goods seeing high growth rates in the United States' market include computers, electronic products and components (45 per cent), footwear (26.1 per cent), and garments and textiles (13.9 per cent), as well as wood and timber products (12.8 per cent).

The country's total export values reached $150 billion in 2014. This amount indicates a 13.6 per cent increase over the data recorded in 2013. The European Union, ASEAN, Japan and China were the other key export markets.
