City nears $3.2 billion in FDI

The country's economic hub attracted US$3.15 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 11 months of this year, according to a report from the city's People's Committee.

The figure represents a 95.3 per cent increase compared with the same period last year. The city licensed 370 new FDI projects with investment capital of $2.78 billion in the period, down 10.2 per cent in terms of projects but up 194.6 per cent in capital on the year. Samsung group's $1.4 billion CE Complex accounts for 50.4 per cent of total newly-registered capital. An additional $365 million was poured into 123 existing projects, a yearly decline of 45.4 per cent.
