Joint Development Bank opens service unit in Oudomxay

The Joint Development Bank (JDB) recently opened a service unit in Oudomxay province, soon after the launch of a unit in Xayaboury province in September, to expand its operations and provide financial services to customers in the northern provinces.

The new service units aim to provide customers with fast, efficient and reliable financial services.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Oudomxay provincial Governor, Mr Khamla Lingnasone, and Director of the Joint Development Bank, Mr Soonthon Chanthavong, and witnessed by representatives of the Bank of the Lao PDR.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Soonthon said the new service unit was part of the bank's strategy to offer its clientele better services and greater convenience.

The Joint Development Bank has continued to expand its service units as it is assisted by both the state and private sectors and trusted by members of the public, who hold the bank in high esteem, he added .

As JDB's customer numbers continue to grow, the bank plans to further improve its technology systems and expand Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services. Now, one card can access up to four personal accounts if customers wish to exercise that option.

Customers can also access banking services via their mobile phone, including checking their account balance, transferring money and paying water, electricity, and phone bills.

The bank plans to use e-banking and i-banking services for transferring money as well as making product payments, meaning that customers can have access to convenient banking services at all hours of the day and night.

At present the Joint Development Bank has its Head Office in Vientiane and has expanded its service units including two units in Vientiane – one at That Luang and another in Sikhai village.

It also has service units in Luang Prabang, Vangvieng, Pakxe, Thakhek, Savannakhet, Paksan in Borikhamxay province, Tonpheung and Houyxai districts in Bokeo province, Lao Bao, Xeno, and booths at Savan Vegas in Savannakhet, Xayaboury and Luang Namtha, and the latest unit in Oudomxay.

At the end of this year, the bank also plans to further expand its service units to the provinces of Huaphan and Xieng Khuang, as well as opening new units in the villages of Dongdok, Xangkhou, and Nongniew in Vientiane.

The Joint Development Bank also has plans to expand in the southern provinces by opening new units in Saravan, Attapeu, and Xekong.

The bank will continue rolling out its services with experienced staff to supply financial services for businesspeople both at home and overseas through offering reliable, convenient and trustworthy banking services.

During the official opening ceremony in Oudomxay, the Joint Development Bank issued lucky draw prizes to the value of 53 million kip to thank its customers.
