GECAS and VietJet sign sale-leaseback terms for two Airbuses

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) and low-cost carrier VietJet Air have inked an aircraft sale-leaseback agreement for two Airbus A320 aircraft.

The aircraft are part of the order that VietJet made with Airbus in February 2014 for 100 Airbus aircraft to be delivered from 2014 to 2018. The agreement has made great progress with BNP Paribas (France) acting as a financial adviser to VietJet.

GECAS is the world’s leading commercial aircraft and engine leasor, supplying more than 1,600 aircraft to over 230 airlines all over the world.

With this agreement in place, Airbus will deliver the next two Airbus A320 to VietJet in November and December, enabling the airline to advance its expansion plan accordingly.

As one of the fastest growing airlines in Asia, VietJet have recently added two more direct international routes connecting Da Nang and Hanoi to Incheon International airport in Seoul, South Korea. The airline also operates an extensive domestic network as well as direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok and Singapore.
