Anju Market plans end of Buddhist Lent blitz sale
Anju Market, which sells construction and decoration products, will discount its goods at the end of the Buddhist lent in November in hopes of promoting their products and attracting more customers.
The market's General Manager Mr Fu Jiangiang told local media last weekend that the market authorities would inform the public about the of the discount and how long it would run for in the near future.
Anju Market is located in Nong Nieng village on Km 5 Kaysone Phomvihane Avenue, Vientiane. The market comprises over 100 stores.
Mr Fu said most of the Chinese goods were imported to sell at the market and they were good, respectable brands with quality guaranteed.
He said after this market was established in 2009, many Lao customers who came to buy the products were more satisfied with Anju Market than many other Chinese markets in Vientiane.
The Chinese companies who are selling their goods at the market have been checked and approved by responsible authorities before renting a space.
Over four years, the market has developed in their product trading and transport services.
“In December, we plan to cooperate with a Korean company to invest and import heating and voice filtering goods,” Mr Fu said.
This market is a model Chinese market, changing the Lao people's minds as many people thought Chinese goods were of low quality, he said.
Mr Fu added that the market plans to expand its agenda to building a primary school in Vientiane as the number of Chinese people residing in Laos was increasing constantly but Lao people did not understand or speak the Chinese language. The project is currently under government consideration.
In the past, owners of the stores in the market contributed money to help Lao society such as donating to the wall construction at That Luang temple.
The market area is some 200,000 square metres in , with an investment of around US$5million.
