Shares advance in morning trade

 Shares rose on both the national stock exchanges this morning, based on the expectations over enterprises' earnings.

 

The VN-Index closed 0.59 per cent higher to end at 592.78 points.

With more than 73 million shares changing hands, the trading value reached VND1.24 trillion (US$58 million).

The blue chips extended their gains with 22 codes adding value, lifting the VN30-Index, which tracks the largest shares by capitalisation and liquidity, by 0.74 per cent to close at 640.78 points.

Only Southern Rubber Corporation (CSM), Da Nang Rubber Corporation (DRC) and PetroVietnam General Services Corporation (PET) fell this morning.

On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index closed 0.64 per cent higher to finish at 80.74 points and the HNXFF-Index, comprising stocks with a minimum free float rate of 5 per cent, ended at 81.26 points, rising by 0.7 per cent.

The HNX30-Index advanced by 1.02 per cent to stand at 165.67 points.

More than 41.6 million shares were traded on the northern bourse this morning, worth VND463.8 billion ($21.9 million).
