City hosts post-harvest tech fair

 A fair displaying technology and equipment used in processing, packaging and preservation of farm products opened yesterday in HCM City.

The event, on at 79 Truong Dinh Street in District 1, has attracted 20 organisations, including research institutes, schools and enterprises.

Forty-eight different kinds of equipment and technologies are on display.

They include fruit processing and preservation technologies, drying equipment for farm produce, jam processing, collagen production and food processing technologies, vacuum-frying equipment, grinding equipment and packaging machines.

Organised by the city-based Centre for Science and Technology Information, the event, which will conclude today, targets linkages between research institutes and businesses, and helps researchers commercialise their ideas and projects.
