An Binh, Maybank connect ATM networks

The An Binh Joint Stock Commercial Bank and Malaysia's largest bank, Maybank, successfully connected their ATM networks on Monday.

Users of An Binh cards can now carry out ATM transactions through the Maybank networks in Malaysia, and vice versa.

"The linkage between our systems is an important cooperation activity between us, with the aim of diversifying the convenient services for our card users," said An Binh General Director Pham Duy Hieu. "This is the first step towards An Binh's goal of taking our brand name as well as products and services abroad."

According to news website gafin.vn, An Binh had issued more than 309,000 domestic cards and 30,000 international cards by the end of last year, while Maybank has about 4,000 ATMs globally.

An Binh has been focusing on expanding networks nationwide and internationally through alliances with BanknetVN and SmartLink cards. It has already linked up with ATM systems in Thailand, South Korea and Russia.

Maybank has been a strategic shareholder of An Binh since 2008 and has supported it in human resource training and organisational management.
