Binh Duong exports bring $3b

The southern province of Binh Duong generated nearly US$3.2 billion from exports in the first quarter of this year, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

This figure represents an increase of 12.7 per cent over the export revenue generated during the same time last year and meets 19 per cent of the annual target. In March alone, provincial exports rose 15 per cent month-on-month to over $1 billion, the department said, attributing the positive result to increasing consumer demand in the first quarter in its traditional markets, including the United States, the European Union, Japan and the ASEAN.

The provincial key export products that recorded high growth included timber, garments and textiles and footwear.
