Ariston opens $18 million factory in Bac Ninh

Italy’s Ariston Thermo, one of the world leading companies in heating and water heating, on April 11 opened its $18 million new manufacturing plant near Hanoi, its second largest water heater factory in Asia.

Located in the northern province of Bac Ninh’s Tien Son Industrial Zone, 40 kilometres from Hanoi, the 50,000-square metre factory will employ about 300 people and produce one million electric water heaters per year. Ariston Thermo has invested in the new factory to better meet the demand of the Southeast Asia market, the company said.

According to Ariston Thermo chairman Paolo Merloni, the new manufacturing plant is a concrete expression of company’s global growth strategy combines a strong international presence with local roots in order to develop intimate consumer relations.

“With today’s opening we’ve strengthened our production capacity within Southeast Asia, an area of strong growth in which Vietnam is the focus of our development strategy,” said Merloni.

The new factory is a landmark for Ariston Thermo’s long success story in Vietnam, with the company operating in the country since 1988.

In the first months of 2014, the group has continued its international expansion by entering South Africa.

By 2020, Ariston Thermo Group aims to have 80 per cent of its business based on highly-efficient and renewable solutions.

Ariston Thermo took several important steps last year in line with the group’s goal to continue to grow both in mature and fast-growing markets by investing in the improvement of their products and greater international presence.
