US firm expands capacity in Dong Nai

The US Company, On Semiconductor Co (Viet Nam), yesterday, expanded its facilities and capacity by inaugurating a factory in the Bien Hoa Industrial Park, the southern province of Dong Nai.

As a subsidiary of the US On Semiconductor Group, the company specialises in manufacturing energy-saving products and semiconductor components.

The major expansion, which cost US$75 million, will see the company raise its production capacity from 20 million power integrated circuits (ICs) to 50 million each year. Spanning an area of about 23,500 square meters, the factory is generating jobs for 1,500 workers and planning to employ more staff in order to fulfil its production requirements.
