Ba Ria - Vung Tau okays nine new projects

The southern coastal province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau granted investment licenses to nine new projects, including two foreign-invested ones worth $61 million, on February 8.

The two FDI projects are a $34-million trade centre, funded by Lotte Viet Nam of the Republic of Korea, and a fertiliser plant worth $27 million funded by Behn Meyer Agricare Viet Nam of Germany.

Seven projects are being funded with local capital of over VND6 trillion ($285.7 million).

According to Nguyen Tuan Minh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, the province will prioritise investments being poured into the support industries for the mechanical engineering, electrical-electronics and chemical sectors.
