VNDirect joins hands with Singaporean firm

Brokerage firm VNDirect announced last week a strategic partnership with CIMB Securities International (Singapore) Pte Ltd, the investment banking and securities brokerage arm of leading ASEAN universal bank CIMB Group.

The two partners will collaborate on the provision of equity research, sales and trading, corporate advisory and capital markets services in Viet Nam.

VNDirect is ranked in the top three for market share on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange and in the top five on the HCM City Stock Exchange.

"Viet Nam has been one of the best performing frontier markets this year and is steadily putting in place measures to enable foreign investment. Having a presence on the ground is crucial to deepening our market insight to leverage opportunities for clients," said Carol Fong, CEO, CIMB Securities.

The partnership will see VNDirect and CIMB Securities establish a Vietnamese equity research team in HCM City to deliver professional research and analysis reports to their customers, using the combined expertise of over 110 research analysts, international industry specialists and regional economists from all over Asia Pacific.
