VN posts $384m trade surplus with Czech Republic

Bilateral trade between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic had surpassed $500 million by the end of November 2013, according to the Vietnamese Trade Office.

During the reviewed period, Viet Nam had an export surplus of $384 million, with items enjoying high turnover including seafood, agricultural products, chemical and plastic products, garments, footwear and electronics.

Meanwhile, Viet Nam's imports from the Czech Republic were valued at $124 million – exceeding $100 million for the first time in many years. Among key imports were engineering goods, electronics, crystal, glass and medical equipment.

The trade office also predicted that these impressive trade results would help accelerate bilateral economic relations in the near future.
