Isuzu gains more market share in Laos

The Isuzu D-Max has experienced a recent boost in sales in Laos, several years after the vehicle debuted in the country.

Isu zu Lao Services Sole Company says Lao consumers have tried and tested a variety of vehicles over the years but the trend has now shifted towards the Isuzu D-Max as they feel confident with the quality of the product .

Isuzu Lao Services Managing Director, Mr Virasaykham Philaphandeth, said the Isuzu D-Max is competitive with any car in its class, being stylish yet practical as well as fuel efficient and economical.

The company expects its annual sales target will reach 1,000 Isuzu pick-ups in 2013 but this figure has yet to be concluded.

In the past few years the inflow of foreign investment has generated income for Lao people and increased purchasing power in the country.

To further stimulate sales Isuzu Lao Services is holding numerous promotions including a monthly lucky prize draw giving customers the chance to win a Yamaha Fino.

At the end of January, the company will hold their biggest lucky draw event yet with the winner set to collect a brand-new Isuzu pick-up.

Mr Virasaykham said the recent promotions were a good opportunity for the company to increase the visibility of their vehicles and give back to their valued customers.

One advantage of the Isuzu D-Max is they are readily available from the Isuzu Lao Services Sole Co., Ltd. cutting down lengthy wait times customers often experience when buying a new car. The company also places great focus on the servicing of their vehicles after purchase, boasting qualified in-house technicians who have been trained by the parent company from Japan.

Despite his product taking a small market share in Laos, Mr Virasaykham is confident more Lao people will prefer the Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck once they learn about the quality and strength of the product and after seeing other people using it.

He said the company aims to let customers know about the various payment options on offer where people can opt to pay off their vehicles over time after making an initial down payment.

He said the company remains very confident in the class of its vehicles and just needs the economy to pick up again because their build quality remains the same.

The Isuzu Lao Services Sole Company has recently opened display booths at Talat Sao Shopping Mall, ITECC and also at the Lao-French week celebrations at the National Convention Centre recently.
