Power grid connects Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai approved a 500kV power transmission line project to bring 80 per cent of hydro-power supplies from the southern part of Laos and the northeast region of Cambodia to Viet Nam.

The US$95.47 million Hatsan-Pleiku project is expected to provide high-quality, safe electricity for the country and the Central Highlands region in particular, creating a base for connecting the three nations' electricity systems.

Of the total investment, $79.17 million comes from the Asian Development Bank as Official Development Assistance (ODA).
