Honda City wins 220 orders after debut

Honda Vietnam on Tuesday launched a new subcompact car model, Honda City, with nearly 220 orders from domestic consumers already secured.

The car of the Japanese carmaker is assembled in Vietnam with components imported from Thailand, Japan and some other countries in the ASEAN region.

Tomohiro Maruno, director of the automobile division at Honda Vietnam, admitted it was unfavorable to launch Honda City this time around. However, given the overall difficult situation, consumers prefer affordable vehicles like small cars.

In fact, Honda City won nearly 220 orders from domestic customers on its debut day.

With dynamic look, spacious interior and fuel-efficient performance, Honda City is considered a strategic car line of Honda Vietnam with a goal of selling more than 1,000 units this year.

Honda City has a 506-liter trunk for luggage, though. It is 4.39 meters long, 1.69 meters wide and 1.47 meters high, creating a spacious cabin interior for both the driver and passengers.

Honda City is supplied in Vietnam through Honda Automobile Dealers system nationwide with a suggested retail sale price of VND540 million for MT version and VND580 million for AT version (VAT included).
