Shares increase slightly during morning trade

Shares fluctuated during this February 19 morning's session but ended the session slightly higher.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed at 494.87 points, a 0.19 per cent increase. Gainers were higher than losers by only 24 codes.

Trading value and volume increased compared to yesterday morning's level, totalling VND985.5 billion (US$46.9 million) and nearly 71.5 million shares.

Of the 30 leading shares tracked by the VN30, there were nine rising stocks and 14 declining stocks.

The index, however, gained 0.03 per cent to 574.62 points.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also rose by 0.09 per cent to reach 66.80 points.

Around 58.3 million shares were exchanged on a turnover of VND458.2 billion ($21.8 million).

The HNX30, composed of the northern bourse's largest stocks, rose 0.4 per cent to stand at 133.56 points.

Trading will resume at 1pm.
