Dung Quat refinery to lift output by 1 million tonnes

The Dung Quat Oil Refinery plans to produce 6.5 million tonnes of petroleum products this year, up nearly 1 million tonne over last year.

The refinery is expected to earn VND120 trillion (US$5.71 billion) in revenue and contribute VND16.8 trillion ($0.8 billion) to the State budget.

Last year, in spite of difficulties, the refinery produced 5.65 million tonnes of various petroleum products, contributing more than VND15 trillion ($0.71 billion) to the State budget.

Dinh Van Ngoc, general director of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company, overseeing the Dung Quat Oil Refinery, said the company so far had contributed VND45 trillion ($2.14 billion) to the State budget, surpassing its investment capital of VND43 trillion ($2.04 billion)
