Quang Ninh lures FDI in 5 key industries

Quang Ninh Province is focusing on 18 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in five major industries: tourism and entertainment services; seaport, border gate and logistics system; infrastructure; and high-quality human resource training.

The province has pledged to exempt investors from corporate income tax for 4 years, apply the preferential corporate income tax of 10% for 15 years, and reduce the tax by half for the 9 following years.

In a recent conference to attract investors, the province’s party chief Pham Minh Chinh confirmed that Quang Ninh plans to become a modern industrial and service province by 2020, playing as an economic driving force in North Viet Nam and striving for a green sea-borne economy.

Enticing the first FDI project in 1990, Quang Ninh now hosts 90 valid FDI projects with the total registered capital of nearly US$4.2 billion. Their realized capital has stood at some US$900 million.
