Shares rose on improved trading

Improved trading this December 10 morning helped lift stocks on both national stock exchanges.

The Vn-Index on the HCM City exchange gained 0.67 per cent over Friday to 386.37 points with the value of trades rising to VND301.7 billion (US$14.4 million).

The VN30 tracking the top 30 shares on the bourse also jumped 0.77 per cent to 453.27 points.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 137-55, of which 38 hit ceiling prices.

The biggest gainers this morning were penny and mid-cap shares, including Bac Giang Exploitable Mineral (BGM), Viet Nam Electricity Construction (VNE), wood processor Duc Long Gia Lai (DLG), Petro Capital Infrastructure Investment (PTL) and PetroVietnam Transportation (PVT), which all hit their ceilings.

BGM, with 2 million shares traded, and VNE with 1.47 million shares traded, were also the most active stocks on the HCM City market this morning.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased 1.24 per cent to close at 52.30 points on an improved turnover of VND128.6 billion ($6.2 million).

Advancers overwhelmed decliners by 126-47. Property developer Sacomreal (SCR) was the most active code on the northern bourse on trades of 2.65 million shares, climbing 4.26 per cent to VND4,900 a share.

Trading will resume at 1pm.
