Stocks close in the green nationwide

Shares extended rallies on both national stock exchanges this November 12 morning. The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange edged up 0.16 per cent to 387.32 points.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 114-67.

Trading value in the southern city reached nearly VND301 billion ($14.3 million) on the volume of 23.15 million shares.

The VN30 also rose 0.26 per cent to 458.43 points thanks to the advance of 16 blue chips. However, five other stocks tracked by the index still lost between 0.7-1.6 per cent, including insurer Bao Viet (BVH), Vietinbank (CTG), steelmaker Hoa Phat (HPG), Sacombank (STB) and Vietcombank (VCB).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the benchmark HNX-Index improved 0.37 per cent, reaching 51.77 points.

Over 24 million shares changed hands, totalling a combined value of VND145.44 billion ($6.9 million).

The HNX30, composed of the northern bourse's top shares, put on 0.82 per cent to 94.25 points.

Afternoon trading will begin at 1pm.
