Shares continue to rise on optimistic sentiment
Shares continued to rise this Tuesday morning on both stock exchanges but at a slower pace.
According to analysts, the slow CPI increase in May, successful debut of PV Gas (GAS) yesterday, and opening of the National Assembly which is expected to pass a stimulus package for the business community were the supporting factors.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index increased over 1 per cent to close this morning's session at 452.66 points on a turnover of nearly VND1.15 trillion (US$54.8 million).
Advancers outnumbered decliners by 154-69, led by blue chips. Over half of the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity rallied, pushing the VN30 Index up 0.64 per cent to 522.19.
While the largest share Vietcombank (VCB) gave up 0.9 per cent and Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) and food processor Masan Group (MSN) closed unchanged, a jump of 4.6 per cent to VND42,900 ($2.04) in the second largest stock PV Gas (GAS) helped lift the Index.
Tan Tao Investment Industry (ITA) was the most active share this morning with 3.28 million shares exchanged, finishing up 3.9 per cent at VND7,900.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index gained another 0.61 per cent this morning to finish at 77.31 points. Trading value reached more than VND396 billion ($19 million) on a volume of 39 million shares.
