Paraguay trade forum opens

A conference intended to accelerate trade and investment relationships between Viet Nam and Paraguay was organised on Tuesday in Paraguay's capital of Asuncion.

Speaking at the forum, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina and Paraguay Nguyen Van Dao introduced Viet Nam's socio-economic situation and its policies on trade and investment.

Paraguayan enterprises at the event spoke highly of Viet Nam's economic results and expressed their interests in establishing relations with Vietnamese partners.

Two-way trade has increased significantly in the past years, reaching a record of US$51 million last year. Of the sum, $13.7 million came from Vietnamese exports including sport shoes, motorbike components, rubber and garments
