Plastics exports to Japan to reach $100m
The country's plastics exports to Japan is likely to reach US$100 million in the second quarter of this year, up 23 per cent year-on-year, according to the Viet Nam Plastics Association.
Japan imported over $81 million worth of Vietnamese plastics goods during the first quarter of this year, surging by more than 200 per cent against the same period last year. That has made Japan the biggest consumer of Vietnamese plastics products.
However, the association said Vietnamese producers and exporters to the Japanese market could still make use of untapped potential for further growth, suggesting domestic businesses increase production, improve product quality and diversify product designs.
