Vietnamese and Indian businesses are strengthening connections through virtual B2B engagement ahead of the 35th Vietnam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo 2026), set for April 8–11 in Hà Nội.

A seminar held on April 1 by the Vietnam Trade Office in India brought together Vietnamese firms and a delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to prepare for matchmaking and cooperation activities at the expo.

Trade Counsellor Bùi Trung Thương said bilateral trade reached around US$16.5 billion last year but remained below potential, given the complementary nature of the two economies.

He stressed that the seminar helps identify priority sectors and lays the groundwork for direct business meetings during the upcoming event.

A CII representative said an Indian business delegation will visit Việt Nam from April 7–10 to attend the expo and take part in multi-sector B2B sessions. Key areas of interest include infrastructure, energy, technology, agriculture, logistics and processing.

Vietnamese trade promotion agencies also updated participants on the country’s investment environment and introduced support measures to improve business matching aligned with Indian firms’ needs.

Delegates called for closer coordination among intermediary organisations to streamline schedules, avoid overlaps and enhance the effectiveness of networking activities. Proposals included organising business forums, sector-focused matchmaking sessions and field visits.

The seminar is seen as a key step to ensure more practical and result-oriented outcomes at Vietnam Expo 2026, contributing to stronger economic and trade ties between Việt Nam and India.
