Hòa Phát Group has inaugurated the Hòa Phát Long An steel pipe factory with an annual capacity of 400,000 tonnes, marking a strategic step to expand its presence in southern Việt Nam and overseas markets.
Located in Tây Ninh Province, the steel pipe plant raises the group’s total steel pipe capacity to 1.2 million tonnes per year, helping it maintain a leading domestic market share of nearly 35 per cent.
Built on a 15-hectare site with total investment of more than VNĐ2 trillion (about US$80 million), the plant is equipped with fully synchronised production lines imported from G7 countries. Its location serves as a gateway linking HCM City with the Mekong Delta, supporting distribution and export logistics.
Alongside capacity expansion, Hòa Phát is advancing its green development strategy. The factory is fitted with a 10MW rooftop solar power system, supplying more than half of its electricity needs.
Speaking at the ceremony, provincial leaders said the project would contribute to industrial growth, budget revenues and job creation in the locality.
The facility manufactures a range of steel pipes for construction, industry and infrastructure, including black steel pipes, galvanised pipes and large-diameter products. All products meet international standards such as ASTM, BS EN and JIS.
According to chairman of Hòa Phát, Trần Đình Long, the plant strengthens Hòa Phát’s ability to meet rising demand in southern Việt Nam while enhancing export capacity.
In the first quarter of 2026, Hòa Phát reported steel pipe sales of more than 241,000 tonnes, up nearly 30 per cent year on year. The southern region accounted for 90,000 tonnes, with March recording a peak of 37,600 tonnes.
The new plant is expected to reinforce the company’s leading position in the domestic market while opening up new growth opportunities abroad.
