Ride-hailing firm Be Group has partnered with AIZEN Vietnam to roll out a programme offering near zero-cost access to electric motorbikes for its beBike drivers in a push to accelerate the shift towards greener transport.

Under the scheme, drivers can either rent electric motorbikes from VNĐ1.4 million (US$54) per month or purchase them via instalment plans starting with a down payment of VNĐ4.3 million, followed by daily payments from VNĐ60,000 over up to 12 months.

The companies said that, when combined with platform incentives of up to VNĐ8 million per month, drivers’ initial costs in the first month could be almost fully offset.

The programme is expected to supply around 30,000 electric motorbikes, with rental packages covering batteries, maintenance and insurance, allowing drivers to operate continuously without large upfront investment.

According to Be Group, driver interest in switching to electric motorbikes has risen sharply. In 2025, only about 15 per cent of drivers considered the transition mainly due to cost concerns. By early 2026, that figure had climbed to 47 per cent following the introduction of support policies such as vehicle rental, preferential loans, and dedicated incentives.

Survey data also showed that around 46 per cent of drivers would be willing to rent electric motorbikes if costs remained below VNĐ2 million per month, indicating that the new pricing model is broadly aligned with market demand.

Drivers using electric motorbikes on the BE platform can simultaneously serve multiple services including beBike, beFood and beDelivery, enabling more flexible and diversified income streams.

Be Group described the initiative as part of its longer-term strategy to support drivers, improve operational efficiency and contribute to sustainable urban transport.

AIZEN Vietnam, a HCM City-based firm backed by Singapore-headquartered AIZEN Global, said the partnership builds on its operational experience in Indonesia and Thailand, aiming to develop a broader electric mobility ecosystem in Việt Nam.

The programme will be implemented through BE5X, a support centre launched in mid-2025 to provide services such as vehicle rental, financing and insurance for drivers.
