Vietnamese entrepreneurs showed strong economic optimism in the Asia Pacific (APAC) Health and Economic Empowerment Survey 2025, with 94 per cent expecting their economic well-being to improve this year.
The findings were released by Herbalife, a premier health and wellness company, which also reported that 87 per cent of non-entrepreneurs shared the same outlook.
The survey also highlighted significantly higher levels of economic and health empowerment among entrepreneurs versus non-entrepreneurs in Việt Nam.
Defined as the ability to make informed decisions that enhance one’s physical, mental and emotional well-being (health empowerment), and improve one’s financial stability (economic empowerment), these levels came in at 17 percentage points higher among the entrepreneurs surveyed. This underscores the greater sense of control entrepreneurs have over both their health and economic well-being.
"We are excited and impressed by the high level of strong economic optimism among Vietnamese entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs for the 2026 outlook," said Vũ Văn Thắng, general manager for Herbalife Việt Nam and Cambodia. "We are committed to supporting people to lead healthy active lifestyles while offering opportunities for those who want to build their own businesses.”
Conducted in October, the survey polled about 8,500 respondents, including more than 2,200 entrepreneurs across 11 markets including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei and Việt Nam.
Entrepreneurs’ confidence
In Việt Nam, entrepreneurs are more likely to see their economic well-being positively. Forty seven per cent of entrepreneurs rate their current state of economic well-being as being very good, compared with 30 per cent of non-entrepreneurs who share the same view.
Entrepreneurs also show greater optimism in achieving their economic goals. More than half of the entrepreneurs surveyed are confident they will meet their short-term economic goal in 12 months, 21 percentage points higher than non-entrepreneurs.
Beyond optimism and confidence in their current and future economic well-being, the findings also revealed higher economic and health empowerment levels among entrepreneurs in Việt Nam. This sense of empowerment could explain why entrepreneurs report greater confidence in achieving their health goals in 2026. More than half of entrepreneurs believe they can reach their health objectives within this year.
The findings show a strong link between health and economic empowerment. Those confident about their finances are also more likely to feel empowered about their health, suggesting the two go hand in hand.
