VinaCapital steps up investment in digital infrastructure, green energy

VinaCapital Group has signed a deal with the Saigon Hi-Tech Park’s management board to develop a regional platform for green energy and sustainable infrastructure, enhancing the park’s investment appeal and long-term competitiveness.

The deal was signed at an investment promotion conference on digital technology infrastructure and large-scale data centres held in HCM City last Sunday.

They will work to deploy renewable energy solutions and battery energy storage systems to ensure steady, high-quality power supply for semiconductor facilities and data centres.

VinaCapital will advise and support enterprises based in SHTP for accessing the direct power purchase agreement mechanism to enable 100 per cent of companies in the park to use green electricity.

The cooperation will also focus on developing high-efficiency cooling and thermal management infrastructure, a critical requirement for large-scale data centres, which consume vast amounts of energy.

Optimising these systems will not only reduce operating costs but also significantly cut carbon emissions in line with stringent environmental standards.

Also at the conference, the HCM City Department of Science and Technology and VinaCapital –representing the investor consortium of FPT, VinaCapital and Việt Thái – signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of a large-scale data centre, expected to be operated by leading global cloud service providers.

The initiative is linked to the formation of an innovation, creativity and technology complex in the city, laying the foundation for a digital technology and finance ecosystem.

The HCM City International Financial Centre signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the VinaCapital consortium and the Global On-Chain Economic Alliance to study, develop and operate the HCM City Digital Asset Fund.

The fund is envisioned as a source of market-forming capital, contributing to the development of a regional-scale on-chain hub within the International Financial Centre framework, with capital mobilisation and deployment planned in multiple phases.

These agreements underscore VinaCapital’s strong commitment to partnering with HCM City to develop modern digital technology infrastructure that meets international standards, creating a solid foundation for attracting financial institutions, fintech firms and global technology corporations, the company added.
