The company said the investment proposal for the 36ha ICD and logistics centre project has been accepted by the city’s finance department.
According to the firm, the project would include a bonded warehouse, cold storage, freight agent service, forwarding, logistics, transportation and container services that relate to the development of a free trade zone, Liên Chiểu Port projects, a complex of high-tech industrial parks and a logistics centre.
It reported that 850,000 TEUs of cargo weighing more than 15 million tonnes were handled by Tiên Sa Port in 2025, marking a revenue of VNĐ1.7 trillion (US$65 million) and 14.2 per cent year-on-year growth.
The port company said it plans to host 17 million tonnes of cargo with a volume of around 919,000 TEUs in 2026, with upgrades to its current port system and logistics services as well as new investment plans for projects including a hotel and a logistics centre.
Tiên Sa Port, which has used 80 per cent of its capacity, was designed as a cruise port to serve the tourism sector. Building a new logistics centre and investing in container berths at the deep-sea Liên Chiểu Port would help meet increasing demand for logistics and growing investment in Đà Nẵng, the company stated.
Last year, the port company operated a new container yard with space for 110,000 TEUs of cargo at Tiên Sa Port.
The opening of the first direct shipping route from Tiên Sa Port to Long Beach Port in Oakland, California, US saw cargo ships travel from central Việt Nam to the US for the first time in 2023.
Tiên Sa Port hosts regular shipping routes from 20 shipping companies including Maersk, Evergreen, MSC, SITC, Wanhai and COSCO, while global container shipping companies such as ONE and Hapag Lloyd also shipped their cargo on different vessels, the port reported.
