The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has officially approved an additional 16 Vietnamese companies as eligible to export seafood to Taiwan (China).

According to information from the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, in addition to adding 16 new companies, the TFDA also updated information for 756 companies and removed 51 that no longer meet the export requirements.

With this approval and update, there are now 772 Vietnamese seafood companies allowed to export to Taiwan.

This approval follows a request from Việt Nam, as part of the close cooperation between the National Authority for Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality, Processing and Market Development and relevant authorities in Taiwan.

It is part of a key effort to ensure and maintain the quality of Vietnamese seafood exports, as well as to update and manage data through Taiwan's Imported Food Digitisation Management system.
