The new line is a significant milestone in Tetra Pak's commitment to delivering innovative packaging solutions to the region.

This strategic investment of 97 million euros (US$115 million) covers an expansive area of 36,000 sq.m. With the second line, the total investment of Tetra Pak Bình Dương is 217 million euros ($256 million).

The fully operational second line enhances the Bình Dương site's status as one of the most advanced aseptic carton packaging material facilities in the region.

The expansion more than doubles the factory's manufacturing capacity to over 30 billion aseptic carton packages annually from the previous 12 billion.

The bolstered production capacity and the addition of 15 new packaging formats enable Tetra Pak to better serve its customers not only in Việt Nam, which accounts for 55 percent of its market, but also in key regional markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

This expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation-led growth across the Asia Pacific region, enhancing its ability to support food and beverage producers with faster, more flexible and sustainable packaging solutions tailoured to evolving consumer needs, the company said.

Adolfo Orive, president & CEO of Tetra Pak, said: “By expanding our capabilities, we are helping brands meet evolving consumer expectations with packaging solutions that are safe, functional and sustainable. This strategic move strengthens our ability to offer greater speed, flexibility and resilience – key drivers of success for our customers in today’s dynamic marketplace.”

According to www.sourceofasia.com, Asia Pacific remains one of the world’s most dynamic F&B markets, valued at $667 billion in 2023 and projected to reach $900 billion by 2028 .

With consumer demand accelerating, the ability to innovate quickly and scale efficiently is critical.

Tetra Pak’s expanded capabilities in Việt Nam are designed to help brands bring new products to market faster with packaging that reflects the latest trends in convenience, health and environmental responsibility.

“For our customers in Việt Nam, this means significantly shorter lead times-just around 7 to 10 days from order to delivery-and faster time-to-market,” Giang Nguyễn, managing director of Tetra Pak Vietnam said.

Since its establishment in 2019, Tetra Pak's Bình Dương factory whose total ground surface is 100,000sq.m has played a vital role in the company's regional supply network, with half of its output going to the domestic market.

It has generated over 350 jobs and contributed significantly to local economic development.
