Stavian Recycling JSC on Thursday officially received an Investment Registration Certificate for its Stavian Plastic Recycling Complex, which is set to be developed in the Nghi Sơn Economic Zone in Thanh Hóa Province.

The announcement was made in the presence of the Nghi Sơn Economic Zone Authority.

Located at Lot CN2-1 within the Nghi Sơn Industrial Park, a strategic industrial hub in northern Việt Nam, the project will benefit from modern infrastructure and strong logistics advantages, including close proximity to the CT01 Expressway and Nghi Sơn Deep-Sea Port.

The complex will be equipped with advanced, environmentally friendly technologies that meet strict sustainability and quality standards set by leading FMCG brands in the US and Europe.

In its first phase, the facility is expected to process 17,000 tonnes of post-consumer PET bottles annually into food-grade recycled PET resin. These products will serve major beverage and packaging brands, contributing to the circular economy and reducing dependence on virgin plastic materials. Operations are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

To prepare for the next development steps, Stavian Recycling also signed a land handover agreement with Anh Phát Investment Construction - Trading JSC, one of the region’s most reputable industrial infrastructure developers. Design and construction contractor selection is now underway, with ground-breaking planned for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The project aligns with Việt Nam’s Extended Producer Responsibility policy and ESG standards, and is expected to bring lasting environmental, social and economic benefits. Environmentally, it will help process hundreds of millions of plastic bottles annually, cutting over 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year compared to virgin plastic. Socially, it will promote recycling habits and create jobs for local communities. Economically, the complex will enhance the domestic supply of high-quality recycled materials, increase value for the plastics industry and boost exports.

“This milestone marks the beginning of our journey to build a modern and sustainable recycling hub in Việt Nam,” said Chairman and CEO of Stavian Group Tony Đinh Đức Thắng. “It reflects our long-term commitment to green growth, the circular economy and the country’s net zero targets.”

The project is part of Stavian Group’s wider efforts to green its operations and lead innovation in Việt Nam’s plastics sector through circular economy initiatives.
