Global hospitality company IHG Hotels & Resorts has affirmed its enduring dedication to Việt Nam's tourism industry by introducing new brands and experiences, exploring fresh destinations, and emphasising job creation at the core of its commitment.

In a media meeting on Friday in HCM City, the company committed to support Việt Nam’s ambition to be a premium tourism hub.

Vivek Bhalla, Managing Director, Southeast Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, stressed that on top of introducing more outstanding hotels and resorts in Việt Nam’s most popular destinations, IHG remains committed to expanding into new locations and providing a choice of stay experiences to suit all travellers.

“IHG is proud to have delivered our signature True Hospitality to guests in Viet Nam from 2007. Since then, we’ve grown our presence into 11 must-visit destinations, including Hà Nội, Vĩnh Yên, Quảng Bình, Đà Nẵng, Hội An, Nha Trang, Hồ Tràm, Sài Gòn, Côn Đảo, Phú Quốc and Hạ Long Bay – and there’s plenty more to come,” said Vivek.

“We’re seizing opportunities to grow our market-leading position in luxury hospitality. Our premium offerings also go from strength to strength. This year, we opened the first global voco resort with voco Quảng Bình Resort and are preparing to welcome guests at voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang. We’re growing in other segments, too, and plan to introduce other brands including Kimpton, Garner, Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn Express and explore opportunities in new destinations such as Sapa and Sầm Sơn.”

According to Vivek, group business in Việt Nam also continues to perform well for IHG, with particularly strong momentum in the leisure segment.

“We’re seeing double-digit growth from some markets regionally and in the Americas and Australia, while increasing flight connections with Europe are opening up even more opportunities,” he explained.

Two other important drivers of IHG’s growth in Việt Nam are the support provided by its in-market team to hotels and owners, and the company’s ongoing commitment to creating new jobs and supporting community causes where it can make the most impact.

In addition to the existing 3,500 colleagues in Việt Nam, more than 1,000 job positions will be filled this year, with new recruits gaining access to top-tier training and professional development programmes for a rewarding career at IHG.

With a current portfolio of 20 hotels across eight brands and 22 upcoming properties, IHG continues its expansion in Việt Nam.

The company recently introduced two new brands, Vignette Collection and Hotel Indigo, and launched voco Quảng Bình Resort and InterContinental Halong Bay Resort & Residences this year, with more projects in the pipeline, including voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang.

Việt Nam is experiencing a remarkable year for international visitor arrivals, having welcomed around 10.7 million overseas travelers in the first half of 2025 – reflecting a 21 per cent increase compared to the previous year. It is anticipated to reach 23 million arrivals by December 31, surpassing the pre-pandemic peak of 18 million arrivals.
