Startup successes showcased at ‘Laos Digital Week 2025’

The success saga of Cambodian startups hogged the limelight at ‘Laos Digital Week 2025’ (April 2-6), in Vientiane, Laos, focusing on technology companies and their innovations alongside digitalisation initiatives.

Many Cambodian startups, including VET Digital, VTENH, CheckinMe, Pilltech, DelightTech and Morakot Technology showcased their line of products and the startup journey at the exhibition.

The unique product lines showcased by Cambodian startups encompassed various economic segments, including E-Commerce, logistics, finance and banking, healthcare and more.

A special session called ‘Cambodia Tech and Startup Showcase’ was also held as part of the event. It was presided over by So Visothy, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC).

The session was attended by over 120 participants, including senior government officials from both Cambodia and Laos, representatives of technology companies, banking and financial institutions and startup owners and entrepreneurs.

It also focused on cooperation between the tech companies of Cambodia and Laos, apart from discussing joint digitalisation initiatives.

“It aimed to contribute to mutual economic growth and enhance collaboration that encourages active participation from private sectors and stakeholders in advancing effective digital transformation,” a statement issued by the MPTC said.

Themed ‘Building Resilience and Sustainable Digital Infrastructure for Laos’, ‘Lao Digital Week 2025’ was organised by the Lao government with an aim to enhance the country’s digital capabilities.

The opening ceremony was attended by Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, government ministers, provincial officials, and representatives from the public and private sectors.

In his speech, Lao Minister of Technology and Communications Boviengkham Vongdara highlighted the rapid development of digital technology, which has become a driving force for global socio-economic progress.

He emphasised the growing importance of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and the need for Laos to embrace this digital revolution to enhance its development.

Additionally, Boviengkham noted the government’s ongoing efforts to integrate technology into public administration and services, while the private sector increasingly shifts online.

To support this transformation, the Lao government has set out a national digital transformation strategy focusing on digital government, digital economy, and digital society, he pointed out, Xinhua reported.

‘Lao Digital Week 2025’ featured a range of activities, including seminars and forums on technology topics with experts from Laos and abroad.

The event also showcased innovative digital products, hosted competitions for Lao-made digital products, and provided opportunities for bilateral discussions with international development partners.
